What do the BT Business Hub lights mean?

These tables will tell you what the lights mean and what to do if something is wrong:


Ethernet, USB or Wireless Lights:

Light Meaning
No light Power is off or the Hub is booting up.
Solid green Devices are connected to the Hub via Ethernet, USB or wireless.
Flashing green Data is coming in or going out of the network.


Phone 1 & Phone 2 Lights:

Light Meaning
No light Power is off, the Hub is booting up or the Broadband Voice service isn't active.
Solid green Broadband Voice service is available and working.
Flashing green Broadband Voice service is in use, the phone is off the hook or data is passing through.


Broadband light:

Light Meaning
No light Power is off or the Hub is booting up.
Flashing green (slow) Hub is trying to connect to your broadband. If this continues see what should I do?
Flashing green (fast) Hub can't connect to the ADSL signal for more than three minutes. If this continues see what should I do?
Solid green Hub is fully connected to your broadband.
Solid red Hub can't successfully connect to the broadband line. See what should I do?


Internet light:

Light Meaning
No light Power is off, the Hub can't detect an ADSL signal, an ADSL signal has been detected or the Hub is trying to connect.
Flashing green Hub is trying to connect to your broadband or data is passing through.
Solid green Your Hub is connected to broadband. If you can't access the Internet see what should I do?
Solid red No Internet connection. If the Broadband light is green see what should I do?


Power light:

Light Meaning
No light Power is off.
Flashing green Hub is undergoing a ‘power on self’ test.
Solid green Power is on.
Flashing red Hub is undergoing a firmware upgrade.
Don't switch off the Hub, as it will cause a fatal error and the Hub will have to be replaced. You can find out more here.
Solid red A fatal error has occurred in the Hub. Push a paperclip into the red Reset button on the back of the Hub for 10 seconds while the Hub is powered up and connected to the DSL line. Then let the Hub run through the reset procedure.
If the problem continues, switch on your computer and contact us.


If your BT Business Hub is connected to a power supply, but has No lights showing see what should I do?


If the BT Business Hub Internet light is solid red, the Broadband light is Solid red, and Power light is Solid red, see what should I do?
