Analogue Private Circuits are the simplest form of dedicated connection between two fixed points within the UK. They are available as two or four wire variants and provide cheap, simple and permanent (as opposed to switched) connectivity where you operate voice or low speed data applications.

Analogue Private Circuits are ‘wires only’, that is, they are not application specific, and as such are not managed products and are not supplied with application specific termination equipment such as signaling units.

BT provides both Directly Wired Access Lines (DWALs) and indirectly wired private circuits. Indirectly wired circuits are routed over the BT public network (poles, cables, ducts, exchanges, etc.).

They provide interconnection between two points on the same site. They do not use any public BT network nor are they allowed to cross any public land, roads, etc.
