How do I setup an eBay account in my eShop?

The method for selling on eBay is the same for BT eShop and BT eShop Elite.

Note: You need an eBay seller’s account before you can begin. If you don’t have a sellers account, you can easily register for one on eBay.

To create an eBay account in your shop:

  1. From the Settings menu, select eBay Settings, then eBay accounts.
  2. Select the eBay platform you will be selling on. This is normally United Kingdom.
  3. Enter a name for the account, for example Joe Bloggs UK eBay Account.
  4. Click on the Save button.
  5. To configure the account, click on the complete it button.
  6. Enter the country that you’re selling from, for example, UK, the region, for example, London and the town, for example, London.
  7. Click on the Save button.
  8. The account must now be authenticated by eBay. Click on the Request Authentication button. The system will test whether a connection to eBay can be created. If successful a Request authentication from eBay link is displayed.
  9. Click on the Request authentication from eBay link. You are automatically forwarded to eBay (to be authenticated).
  10. Enter your account details.
  11. Click on the Sign in button.
  12. Provided there are no problems you are asked if you wish to link your eBay account to your shop. Click on the I agree button. You are returned to your shop and your account is authenticated.
  13. Test the account by clicking on the test authentication button.

Note: Your account will not be authenticated indefinitely. You will need to periodically repeat the above from step 8 to continue selling items on eBay through your shop.
