Withdrawal of BT Communications Complete and Cisco UC500
We will no longer sell our BT Communications Complete (BTCC) service or its hub, the Cisco Unified Communication 500 (UC500), from the 1st of February 2010. However, if you already have this service, we’ll continue to provide you with support.
Why is BT no longer selling BTCC / UC500?
Although Cisco’s UC500 is a complete, effective and reliable product, it is relatively complex to install. Newer, equally effective products have hit the market. These are simpler to set up - and so are ideal for small to medium businesses.
What if I already have BTCC / UC500?
We’ll keep supporting you if you have a maintenance contract with us. If you have any complex issues, we’ll still bring in Cisco to assist.
What if I’m still in the process of placing an order for BTCC / UC500?
The cut-off date for orders in progress is the 26th of February. So if you’re still discussing the order of BTCC, it’ll need to be signed by then.
Does BT plan to move everyone from BTCC / UC500 to another solution?
Not at the moment. We plan to keep supporting your BTCC, and to move you onto an alternative if the need arises. This may be the case if you have difficulties with BTCC, or if you wish to follow certain upgrade paths. We’ll examine each situation on its own merits.
Is BT still working with Cisco in the Small to Medium Enterprise Market?
Absolutely. We are their largest reseller in the UK, and continue to use their products where we feel they are best suited.
