How do I reset mailbox passwords?

If you have NVM Manager installed on a PC follow the steps below, otherwise please jump to I don't have NVM Manager

  1. Login to the NVM Manager application on your administration PC for your Norstar Applications Module
You can find this in the Start menu>Programs>Norstar Voice Mail Manager
  2. In Voice Mail Manager click on Mailbox pull down menu and select change/delete
  3. In Mailbox Administration highlight the mailbox number
  4. Click change to show the mailbox details
  5. Select reset password to default and click OK
    The default is 0000

There will be a change password prompt, next time the user logs in to the mailbox.

I don't have NVM Manager:

  1. From a Norstar M7310 or M7324 telephone, press feature 983
  2. Enter the admin mailbox number - 102 or 1002 or 10002
The number depends on the length of your Norstar extensions - 3, 4 or 5 digits
  3. Enter the 4 digit password, then press OK
    The default is 0000
  4. Select MBOX to show Mailbox Admin
  5. Select CHNG to show Mbox:
  6. Enter the mailbox number you want to reset
This is normally the same number as the extension
  7. Select Reset - the mailbox password has now been reset to 0000
  8. Press * to go back to the admin menu or Rls to exit programming

There will be a change password prompt, next time the user logs in to the mailbox.
