We have several extensions in different parts of the building with no dial tone. Why is this?

This could be due to damage to the wiring, otherwise it is possible the system has undergone a card or shelf failure.

Are there alarms displayed on the console?

If the alarm or problem persists, or there are other difficulties such as a loss of incoming or outgoing calls, report it as a fault for further diagnostics.

Charges could be possible if the problem is proven to non BT causes.
