Moving premises

Moving premises? Just visit our Moving premises website and we'll help plan your move.

Want to know more?

See if the answer to your question is here:

  1. How much notice do I need to give to move premises?
  2. Will I be charged for moving premises?
  3. Can I keep the same number when I move premises?
  4. Will BT help me move my equipment and install it in my new premises?

  1. How much notice will I need to give to move premises?

This depends on how complex your products and services are, appointment availability and the state of the premises that you are moving to. More complex & multi-line products will almost certainly take longer.

For more details see I'm moving: how much notice should I give BT?

  2. Will I be charged for moving premises?

This depends on what services you require and what you have installed in your new premises. You can find more details on charges here.

  3. Can I keep the same number when I move premises?

If you're moving within the area covered by your existing telephone exchange, you should be able to keep your existing number. You can take 0800, 0845 and other BT Telemarketing numbers with you wherever you move in the UK. If you're moving out of the area covered by your existing telephone exchange but want to keep your existing number, we can arrange for your old number to be redirected to your new number for an additional fee.

  4. Will BT help me move my equipment and install it in my new premises?

Yes, for certain products, but there may be a charge for this so see What charges will I have to pay when I move premises? The timescales for moving equipment will depend on how complex your equipment is. Please allow 10 to 26 working days for a small office and even longer if a large amount of equipment is to be moved.
