Setting up mobile data using a BT SIM on your iPhone

To set up your iPhone with our settings, follow the steps below for your operating system:

IOS 7 Settings

  1. From the Home screen on your phone, select Settings Image
  2. Select Mobile (it may be called Cellular).
  3. Select Mobile Data Network (it may be called Cellular Data Network).
  4. Over type the existing settings with the BT settings:

  5. Cellular Data APN btmobile.bt.com
    Username bt
    Password bt
    MMS APN btmobile.bt.com
    Username bt
    Password bt
    MMSC http://mms.bt.com/servlets/mms
    MMS Proxy 212.183.137.12:8799
    MMS Max Message Size 307200
    Personal Hotspot
    (if required)
    APN btmobile.bt.com
    Username bt
    Password bt

  6. Select the Back tab at the top of the screen.
  7. Press the Home screen then power the handset off and back on.
  8. Retest using the Safari browser.


IOS 7 Hotspot

If you have IOS7 you can now use your iPhone to set up a Personal Hotspot. This means you can share your internet connection with other users.

To do this simply go to:

Settings > Personal Hotspot > slide to turn on the Hotspot name (SSID), the wi-fi password for your iPhone is shown.

Note: Personal Hotspot works only if the iPhone is connected to the internet over the mobile data network. Data charges may apply. If you have any problems connecting please contact Apple.


IOS 6 Settings

  1. From the Home screen on your phone, select Settings Image
  2. Select General.
  3. Select Mobile Data (it may be called Cellular).
  4. Switch Mobile Data to Off (it may be called Cellular Data).
  5. With Mobile data off a new menu appears. Select Mobile Data Network (it may show as Cellular Data Network).
  6. Over type the existing settings with the BT settings:

  7. Cellular Data APN btmobile.bt.com
    Username bt
    Password bt
    MMS APN btmobile.bt.com
    Username bt
    Password bt
    MMSC http://mms.bt.com/servlets/mms
    MMS Proxy 212.183.137.12:8799
    MMS Max Message Size 307200

  8. Select the Back tab at the top of the screen.
  9. Turn Mobile Data back On.
  10. Press the Home screen then power the handset off and back on.
  11. Retest using the Safari browser.
