Can I use my own broadband modem or router?

Yes, provided it is approved for use on the BT network.

  • A label, often on the bottom or the back of the modem/router or on the packaging, will indicate suitability.
  • Third party routers and modems are not supported by our technical helpdesk.
  • Please keep the equipment originally supplied by us in case of any technical support.

 

General settings for broadband modems/routers:

  • VPI number: 0
  • VCI number: 38
  • Authentication: CHAP
  • Modulation: G.DMT
  • Encapsulation: PPP over ATM (PPPoA); Virtual Circuit Multiplexing (VC-MUX)
