How to setup data and MMS APN settings on a iPhone 6

An iPhone can automatically detect network settings.

WARNING! This will reset all wi-fi passwords and other network settings:

  1. From the home screen, tap Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Reset
  4. Tap Reset Network Settings
  5. A box will pop up to explain the network settings will go back to factory settings. Tap Reset Network Settings

If this doesn't work you'll need to download the settings yourself. To do this you'll need to be connected to a wi-fi network, but once you have installed the settings you should turn off wi-fi in order to test the mobile internet connection.

Once you're connected to a wi-fi network, open Safari on your handset.

  1. Open the following FAQ where you will find the download file you need to complete this process.
  2. On the webpage, locate and tap the link that says Download the iPhone config file here.
  3. Once you've clicked the link you'll be redirected to the installation pages.
  4. Select Install from the top right hand corner and your settings will install.
  5. Make sure wi-fi is turned off.
  6. Power your handset off and on again, and you should now be able to access mobile data.

If the handset still can't access mobile data or send MMS messages, you can manually check the settings by doing the following:

  1. From the Home screen tap Settings
  2. Select Mobile/Cellular
  3. Select Mobile data network/Cellular data network
  4. Fill in the following details in the relevant fields:

    • APN -
    • Username - bt
    • Password - bt
    • MMSC - http://mms/
    • MMS Proxy -
    • MMS Max Message Size - 1048576

Press the home button beneath the screen. You should now see 4G, 3G, E or GPRS in the top left corner of the screen. If the phone does not show this connection, try turning the handset off and then back on.
