How do I access BT Business Email plus products, through my BlackBerry?
If you have BT Business Email plus Organise or plus Organise and Share, you can access it through your BlackBerry, without any extra costs.
You'll need to make sure your Business Email plus accounts are activated on the Business Email platform, otherwise you'll get the wrong BlackBerry interface.
To get started, select where you bought your BlackBerry from and then follow the steps:
Set up a BlackBerry bought from BT Mobile
- To set up your BlackBerry with BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) Version 2, go to www.bt.blackberry.com in Internet Explorer
- If you've already registered, go to step 4
- If you've not yet registered, follow these steps:
1. Click Create New Account and accept the terms and conditions
2. Enter the PIN and IMEI numbers for your BlackBerry, including the separating full stops
To find these:
a) On your device, press the Options or Settings and select Status, or
b) If you still have the box your device came in, the details will be there, or
c) The number is printed under the BlackBerry battery
3. Click Continue
4. Accept the terms and conditions
5. Choose your user ID which will become Yourchoice@bt.blackberry.com and you will use this on the main Login page
6. Choose your Friendly Name which will head emails if you use this account
7. Choose your Password to access the admin area on the Login page
8. Choose your Security question
9. Click Submit to see your confirmation - To add your BT Connect email account to the BlackBerry account, enter your user ID and password
- Click Login
- Click Setup Account
- Enter your full BT Connect email address in E-mail Address
- Enter your password where requested
- Click Next to start the set-up
- Once completed, a new email account envelope will be shown on the main screen and an activation email sent advising emails will be polled within 20 minutes
- The E-mail Accounts page shows the changes and you can see details of the set up, by:
1. Clicking Edit
2. Click Advanced - To set up an alias to use domain names select Edit by the individual email account, on the E-mail Accounts page
- Change E-mail as required
- Click Save to update
If you are a Business Email Lite user and follows these steps, you will be get BlackBerry POP3 access.
Set up a BlackBerry bought from a third-party
Please follow Steps 1 to 3 above but using the third-party BlackBerry support website.
Steps 4 to 11 may be different depending on which version of BlackBerry Internet Service, the third-party is using.
The setup details to enable third-party supplied BlackBerry devices to work with the Business Email platform are:
For Business Email plus Organise or plus Organise and Share - IMAP Access:
- Server - imap.btconnect.com
- Server type - IMAP
- Port - 143
- Timeout - 30 seconds
Business Email Lite - POP3 Access:
- Server - pop3.btconnect.com
- Server type - POP3
- Port - 110
- Timeout - 30 seconds
Use SSL must be un-checked.
Step 12 onwards, may again be different because of the version of BlackBerry Internet Service used by the third-party.
