I don't know what my IP address is. How do I check it?
To find out what your existing IP address is using Windows, do the following:
- Click Start to open the Start menu.
- Select All Programs (XP, Windows 7) or Programs (NT and 2000).
- Select Accessories, then Command Prompt or Command Prompt (NT).
- At the command prompt, enter ipconfig /all and press return.

This will give you information regarding your computer's TCP/IP setup, including:
- Physical (or MAC) address
- IP address
- Subnet mask
- Default gateway
- DHCP server
- DNS server

The IP address shown above is 192.168.1.214.
The physical address, also known as the MAC address, in the above screen shot is
