Accessing your voicemail from abroad
If you use your voicemail abroad, you can avoid international roaming charges that may apply when you receive calls - letting calls go to voicemail lets you control when and how you return the messages.
Before you can do this, you need to set up your voicemail security code before you go abroad. To do this just:
- Dial 1571 for your voicemail
- Press 1 for the main menu
- Press 4 for mailbox settings
- Press 2 to access the security settings

To listen to your messages when abroad:
- Call your own mobile number prefixed with +44 and dropping the leading zero e.g. +44 7818123456
- When you hear the voicemail greeting interrupt it by pressing 9
- When you hear the voice prompt, enter your voicemail security code
- You will now be able to listen to your messages
Changing the time taken for calls to route to voicemail
Enter the following into your keypad:
**61*1571*10*[number of seconds]#
Then press send as if making a phone call. For example **61*1571*10*30# SEND would set it at 30 seconds
The time can be altered in 5 second steps and be set between 5 and 30 seconds long - so you can use 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds.
