ISDN2 DASS retirement
BT is withdrawing its ISDN2 DASS product permanently on the 31st of March 2008. BT plans to transfer these installations over to the alternative ISDN2e service in a phased migration up until the 31st of March 2008. BT will be contacting users of the ISDN2 DASS service to confirm the details. If this affects you and you do not wish to change to ISDN2e, please contact BT to make alternative arrangements. The ISDN2 DASS product has been superseded by ISDN2e and many customers have already successfully moved across to this improved product. ISDN2e provides improved functionality and is supported world-wide. It is also now the European Telecommunications Standard Institute Platform. Note: Simply by migrating to the ISDN2e service, you can continue to enjoy the benefits of ISDN2 without any undue inconvenience to your business. However, this upgrade may require a change to the equipment that you use on your line to ensure that it is compatible with ISDN2e. Please check with your equipment supplier in advance to ensure that no difficulties are encountered at the time of changeover. Note: You need to ensure that the equipment you currently have connected to the ISDN2 service is compatible with the alternative that you wish to use. If in doubt, check with your terminal equipment supplier.
ISDN2e is BT's high-performance voice and data service for small offices. With a basic installation you can connect up to 8 digital devices and make 2 calls at once. ISDN also offers 64/128k Internet access, which is useful if Broadband hasn't yet reached your exchange.
