How do I manage my FTP Password?

What is my FTP password?

To use File Transfer Protocol you need your FTP username and password. These vary depending on whether you are uploading to your free web space or your BT Web Hosting web space.

How do I reset my FTP password?

You can reset your FTP password at any time by logging in to Your account, selecting the Manage your website/s in the Websites and domain names section of the page then clicking on Change FTP password for the specific account you wish to edit. You are asked to provide your BT Business password as verification and to type your new FTP password in twice. After successful submission, the password is immediately changed. You should update your password in any FTP clients you use.

Note: FTP usernames cannot be changed.
