How do I download and install Outlook 2007 if I have Windows Vista?
Note:
- Spell check doesn't work with previous versions of Outlook (for example, Outlook 2003), and is only compatible with other Office 2007 products.
- Before you start, please back up your email.
- Log into Your Account.
- Click on the Manage services link at the top of the page. The Manage services page is displayed:

- In the Email section, click on the Manage mailboxes link:
The Email page is displayed:

- Click on the Download Outlook link. The following is displayed:

- Click on the Outlook 2007 manual download link to display a File Download.
- Click on the Save button to save the file to your desktop. Once the file has been saved, an Office 12 icon is displayed on your desktop.
- Double-click on the Office 12 icon.
- Click on the Run button. An Office 12 folder is placed on your desktop.
- Double-click on the Office 12 folder to open it.
- Double-click on the setup file:
The following dialog is displayed:

- In the field displayed, enter the product key.
Note:
Your product key is displayed on the Download Outlook page where you clicked on the Download Outlook link. - Click on the Continue button.
- Confirm that you accept the Terms and Conditions. The following dialog is displayed:

- Click on the Install Now button. A progress bar indicates the progress of the installation. This may take some time depending on the speed of your broadband connection.
- Once the installation has finished, restart your computer to fully install Outlook 2007.
Before you can start using Outlook 2007, you need to configure it to work with your BT Business Email product. For this, you need to download two small files.
To install these two files
- Log back into Your Account.
- Click on the Manage services link at the top of the page. The Manage services page is displayed:

- In the Email section, click on the Manage mailboxes link:
The Email page is displayed:

- Click on the Download Outlook link. The following is displayed:

- Click on the RPCHTTP.vbs link to display a File Download - Security Warning dialog .
- Click on the Save button and download the file to your desktop. You don't need to install the file, this is automated in the next steps.
- Return to the Download Outlook page.
- Click on the mail.prf link to display a File Download - Security Warning dialog.
- Click on the Save button and download the file to your desktop.
- Ensure that there is only one mail.prf file on your desktop.
- Double-click on the RPCHTTP.vbs file on your desktop.
- Click on the Open button. This makes the necessary configuration changes to allow Outlook 2007 to work with BT Business Email. It will also create a temporary registry setting that causes Outlook to import further configuration details from the mail.prf file when it is first started.
If there are issues found during this process, ensure that there are no other profiles created. Display the Control Panel, double-click the mail icon and click on the Show Profiles button. The list of profiles set up on this computer should be empty before the RPCHTTP.vbs file is run again.
Note:
You may be prompted to enter your username and password again. - Start Outlook 2007. You’re asked for your XXX@btconnect username and password twice and the profile is automatically configured.

If you previously used POP3 access on Outlook 2007 on the same email account, you must delete this.
