How do I download and install Outlook 2007 using the download and configuration tool?

The Outlook 2007 download and configuration tool is an application that configures your Outlook 2007 client to work in Exchange Mode into BT Business Email. To use this tool, you must have previously purchased BT Email Plus Organise and Share and allocated the license to the user via Manage Services at www.myoffice.bt.com.

The tool performs the following tasks automatically:

  • Analyses your computer to check it meets the minimum requirements for Outlook 2007. This involves the automatic download of two small files. If your computer does not have the .NET framework already installed, this is also installed and takes approximately 10 minutes (it can be removed later if not required).
  • Downloads and installs Outlook 2007 (subject to minimum requirements). If Outlook 2007 is already installed, this step is ignored. If Outlook 2003 is installed, an upgrade to Outlook 2007 takes place.
  • Configures Outlook 2007 to work with your @btconnect.com account (a BT Email Plus Organise and Share license is required for full client working only).

Note:

  • Due to the size of the tool, we recommend the download as suitable for Broadband users only. Be aware that the download is likely to take 20 to 30 minutes depending on your connection speed.
  • Spell check doesn't work with previous versions of Outlook (for example, Outlook 2003), and is only compatible with other Office 2007 products.

To start the Outlook 2007 download and configuration tool:
