I am in a coverage area but my connection seems slower than usual. Why might this be?

You may experience slow download speeds for a number of reasons, including:

  • If you are browsing to a website with a high number of visitors, you may find that it is unable to respond. You may see an error message or the site may be extremely slow. Try to visit the site during off-peak times.
  • Programs running on the computer may be using an Internet connection in the background, for example, Windows Update or anti-virus software. Wait until the program has finished its task or close the program.
  • Your network coverage is poor. Try moving the location of your datacard or dongle to a location with better coverage, for example, by a window, to check if this is the cause.
