How do I analyse calls?

You don't need to do anything to set up call analysis - it’s just one of the benefits of online billing.

There are two levels of analysis:

Simple analysis

  1. Sign in to BT Business My account
  2. Click on the account that you want to look at
  3. Click the View bill button
  4. Click the Usage tab to see a list of your itemised calls (this tab will not show if there is no usage). You can change the order of the list by clicking on any of the following, depending on what you want to see:
    • Call summary
    • Most expensive calls
    • Most frequent calls
    • Longest calls
    • Cost bands
    • Duration bands
    • Time bands
  • If you're filtering on Call Summary you can view the information in a table or change it to a graph, which is often an easier way to understand a lot of information. Just use the Table View/Graphical View button.
  • If you're looking at call summary, most expensive calls, most frequent calls, or longest calls, you might want to choose your own ranges for viewing the information. Just click on Advanced options to change the view.
  • If you want to see specific types of calls (e.g. international, mobile) use the Call Type dropdown.

Detailed analysis

If you need more detailed information, from the left-hand menu click on Charges (under Analyse). You can then choose from these tabs:

  1. Overview gives you a top-level graphical view of your rentals, usage charges, discounts and credits for whichever account you want to analyse
    • To change the account you're looking at, click Analyse more bills
    • Tick the appropriate account and bill ID in the box that will open
    • Click View

    You can also use the Hotspots dropdown to compare your current bill to the previous bill or the bill from the same period last year

  2. Summary Reports is where you can find reports about the services and charges across all of your online accounts
    • For more information about any particular charges, just click on the amount to reveal more detail
    • See the More summary reports section for, yes, more reports: click on the chevron (>) next to the report type for a brief description of each report
    • You can download reports (and then print them) by clicking on Download (PDF or CSV file)

  3. Usage Reports is where you can find reports about the type of calls you've made from your landlines and mobiles: UK, international, fixed line, mobile or premium rate
    • For more information about any particular charges, just click on the amount to reveal more detail
    • See the More summary reports section for more reports: click on the chevron (>) next to the report type for a brief description of each report
    • You can download reports (and then print them) by clicking on Download (PDF or CSV file)
