The Payment Processing Fee is a charge for customers who do not pay their bills by Direct Debit (there are some exceptions, which you can read about in the BT Price List).
It does not apply to initial (first), supplementary (interim), or final (last) bills.
The fee is £6 a month for each bill (or £18 a quarter, if you pay quarterly), VAT is added to these charges.
You'll see these in the 'Payment Charges' section of the bill.
Is the Payment Processing Fee different to the Paper Bill Fee?
Yes, we charge the Paper Bill Fee to customers who continue to receive paper bills. So if you don't pay by Direct Debit and you continue to have paper bills, you'll see both charges appear on your bill.
How can I reduce the number of Payment Processing Fees I pay if I don't want to change to Direct Debit?
We can consolidate your bills into BT OneBill. This means we'll only apply the Payment Processing Fee to the BT OneBill, not each individual bill.
