How do I programme my DDI numbers to ring specific extensions and ringing groups?

DDIs/MSNs can be directed to:

  • ring a single extension
  • a group of extensions
  • the extensions programmed in the incoming ring map

If a DDI number is not programmed to ring anything then by default calls to that number will ring the incoming ring map. When the DDI/MSN number is programmed, the ringing options available are the same as when programming the incoming ring map.

Up to 100 DDI/MSN numbers can be programmed. There are 100 MSN indexes and each DDI/MSN number can be programmed individually against each MSN index.

To program a DDI via the web interface:

  1. Open and log into the web interface.
  2. Select Lines / DDI Routing to open the DDI Routing page.  The DDI numbers are listed in groups of 10.
  3. Select the range of numbers you wish to program.
  4. Enter the DDI number in the number text box.
  5. Enter the name associated with the number, max 16 characters. This is the name that will be used by Telesecretary if enabled on your system.
  6. Select Enabled or Disabled from the Accept on Busy dropdown list to either accept or reject calls coming in from the network for the DDI number when the extension or group is busy.
  7. Select the Day destination for the DDI number.
  8. Select the Night destination for the DDI number.
  9. Select the Day call answering option from the drop down list:

Disabled: an incoming call to the DDI will be sent directly to the Day destination.
Auto Attendant: the auto attendant will answer incoming call to the DDI number.
Courtesy: an incoming call to the DDI will hear the Courtesy Greeting.
  10. Select the Night call answering option from the drop down list:

Disabled: an incoming call to the DDI will be sent directly to the Night destination.
Auto Attendant: the auto attendant will answer incoming call to the DDI number.
Courtesy: an incoming call to the DDI will hear the Courtesy Greeting.
  11. Select Submit.
