Why does the BT Broadband Voice number start with 05? Does that mean it's free to call it?

We’re withdrawing our Broadband Voice and Hosted VoIP services from 1st December 2017, but we’ve still got plenty of cloud-based business phone systems to choose from.

No, numbers beginning with 05 have been created specifically for use with BT Broadband Voice. They are not free to call.

Wherever you are in the country you will have a 05 number rather than a number starting with your local area code (unless you placed an order for a geographic number, such as 01932).
