We’re withdrawing our Broadband Voice and Hosted VoIP services from 1st December 2017, but we’ve still got plenty of cloud-based business phone systems to choose from.
A Multiple Appearance Directory Number (MADN) provides you with one telephone number which, when called, is directed to multiple lines.
You can use a MADN to set up a sales desk, where calls to the number are directed to a selection of available lines simultaneously until one of them answers.
If a call to a MADN goes unanswered, it is forwarded to the MADN’s mailbox.
You can maintain a MADN by using BT Hosted VoIP Service Webcare.
- Displaying the details of a MADN
- Adding and removing MADN lines
- Forwarding MADN calls
- Rejecting MADN calls
- Limiting MADN calls
- Displaying MADN statistics
To display the details of an MADN:
- Log in to the VoIP Portal with your BT Broadband Voice number and password.
- Click on the MADNs link to display the MADNs Settings page.
- Click on the telephone number for the MADN that you want to edit to display its settings page.
If you want to add a new line to the MADN, click on the add lines link and enter the details of the new line.
Note: Each line in the business group can only belong to one MADN. If you want to remove a line from the MADN, click on the remove lines link and select the line that you want to remove.
If you want to set up call forwarding for the MADN and have subscribed to this service, click on the call forwarding link and specify the types of call that you want to forward.
If you want to reject certain types of call to the MADN and have subscribed to this service, click on the call rejection link and specify the types of call that you want to reject.
If you want to limit the number of calls to the MADN, click on the other settings link and change the setting.
If you want to display statistics for the MADN, click on the statistics link. For a given time period, the number of calls queued, rejected and answered immediately on each line in the MADN are displayed.
